Terms of Use (Beta)

1. The short version

LeMakros is in beta. These terms are the agreement between you and LeMakros — questions to support@lemakros.app.

LeMakros helps you estimate what’s in your food. The numbers are estimates, not facts — close enough to be useful, never exact. It’s a tool for everyday eating, not medical care. Be kind to yourself with it.

2. Not medical advice

Nothing in LeMakros — the estimates, your targets, or anything Alfred says — is medical, dietary or clinical advice. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or take medication affected by diet, check changes with a doctor or dietitian first.

If you have, or are recovering from, an eating disorder, calorie and macro tracking can do more harm than good. Please talk to a doctor or someone you trust before using an app like this.

3. Your account

You sign in with Google, and your account is for you alone. You need to be 16 or older. If you’re under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission to use LeMakros, and a parent or guardian must agree to any paid plan. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your Google account secure.

4. Plans, trial & billing

• New accounts get a 14-day free trial of everything. No card needed. The trial is once per Google account.
• After the trial you can stay on the Free plan or subscribe to Basic or Premium, monthly or yearly. Payments are handled by Stripe.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from Account → Manage subscription; you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
• We don’t refund part-used periods, except where the law says we must. If something went wrong, email us — we’ll be reasonable.
• If prices change, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it affects what you pay.
• Founding members: if you subscribed while founding-member prices were on offer, price changes don’t apply to you. You keep the price you joined on, for that plan and billing cycle, for as long as your subscription stays active. It ends if you cancel, or if a payment fails and isn’t sorted out before the subscription lapses. Switching plan or billing cycle moves you to that option’s price at the time.
• The streak discount is a bonus, and how it works may change. What’s shown on the Pricing page is what applies. A change never reduces a discount already applied to your current billing period.
• Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and include any applicable taxes.

5. Fair use of the AI

AI estimates cost us real money each time, so each plan includes a number of new foods a month — the AI working out a food that isn’t in LeMakros yet, or reading a nutrition label: 10 on Free, and 300 on the trial and paid plans. Foods you’ve logged before don’t count. Asking Alfred or the sense-check chat doesn’t count either.

If costs spike across the whole app (for example from abuse), we may pause new AI look-ups for free and trial accounts for a while. We’ll say so clearly in the app, and everything else keeps working.

Please don’t scrape, overload or try to break the service, or use it to generate content that isn’t about your own food.

6. Your data

What you log is yours. You let us store and process it to run LeMakros — including adding anonymous dish estimates to the shared LeMakros library — as explained in our Privacy Policy. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve LeMakros. You can delete your account and data any time.

7. The service

LeMakros is in beta and independently run. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but features may change, and it may occasionally be unavailable. We’re not responsible for problems caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as an outage at our hosting, AI or payment provider.

Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under Malaysia’s Consumer Protection Act 1999, or any other right the law says can’t be excluded. Apart from those, our total responsibility to you is limited to the greater of RM100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Nothing limits our responsibility for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

8. Ending things

You can stop using LeMakros and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or these terms, and we’ll tell you why when we can.

If we close your account when you haven’t broken these terms, or we shut LeMakros down, we’ll refund the unused part of any period you’ve paid for.

9. Changes & law

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you’re on a paid plan and don’t accept the change, you can cancel before then and we’ll refund the unused part of your period.

We may transfer these terms, and your data, to a company set up to run LeMakros or to a new owner. We’ll tell you first, and your rights under these terms and our Privacy Policy won’t be reduced. If a court decides part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. If we can’t sort out a problem together, you can take it to the courts of Malaysia or the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia.
